I zorched the 30 gig c and 30 gig d and made one big 60 gig c - something I have wanted to do for awhile... and now we are playing. Can't seem to figure out how to get the clarseic start menu style, but this is good fun. Seems a bit faster, although at boot time I am usually installing something, so it is longer than it should be.

Just finished the install - has recognized everything on the Acer Aspire 5315 laptop I have. Cool!

Threw a Wubi install of Ubuntu 9.04 on the laptop and - BAM! the wifi, sound, well - everything - works!
Think I will dual boot awhile - can't ditch Vista because I need to use iTunes for the Touch.

Nice - The other day the control system at work zorched and I had to reboot it - and for a time was greeted with a linux boot sequence instead of XP Pro. No idea why - I didn't really have time to explore (it is a control system, after all) so I power-cycled and got onto the normal boot pattern.

I have been streaming much music via Pandora. I use the page from the computer and there is an app for the iPod Touch - that is what I am usually listening to as the dog is outside doing his business. Lots of different ways to mix up the tunes and it's free (or you can pay and become a member - $36 a year - kills the adds and the like).

I messed around on the boy's Mac laptop, but I didn't want to mess things up. I am like you - I know nothing of Mac, but they are looking better and better all the time.

Just nailed another app called "deadsetz" that gives access to a bunch of dead concert streams, event posters, lyrics, and a forum for discussions of all things dead.

I am loving it more and more...
RSS Player is a great podcast downloader and player app - much better than the iPod's podcasting download system (one episode at a time)
The NY Times app also updated yesterday and it is GREAT now - much faster, slick interface, and very good for news.
Amazon just released a Kindle for iPod app that allows you to nail books (no periodicals though) through the Kindle Store.
Pandora, the music player that bases its stations based on the Music Genome project's similar artists concept - magical!
And there is a Public Radio player app that allows you to choose from MANY different public radio stations to stream.
The iPod is getting very cool!

I think the beta is dead now. Dang...
Alex Albrect (ex-G4 Attack of the Show and current Kevin Rose Digg bud) loves it. Got me thinking. My laptop is so "iffy" hardware-wise that I don't think it will roll easily.

Apple lets their music playing app "background" but every music app from others that I have used just shut down. Pandora, NPR Player, Bloom, etc...
