Secondary Master IDE Controller.
« on: November 20, 2002, 01:28:20 pm »
So last night i was trying to help a friend install windows on her computer but the Computer would not boot from CD. So i had her go in to BIOS and check to see if Boot From Cd was enabled. It was. But it would not boot from the disc.

She brought it to me today and after looking around in the BIOS the Secondary Master IDE Controller was not enabled.

The primary one was set, which is where the Hard Drive is connected.

After setting it, it booted to disc and i was rolling.

Its this kind of thing that slips my mind when i am trying to help someone over the phone, but as soon as i look at the settings i know what i have to set. But next time around i wont forget. It just takes one time for it stick.
